"We all know McDonalds; it's only the most infamous fast food chain in the entire world. With establishments all over the world, and more popping up everyday, the corporation is dominating the fast food industry. Needless to say, with so much popularity, the media is always on the tail of the mega-million dollar burger stop. So, when bad press arises around the chain, it quickly becomes huge news in the media.

Some clever kid who spends his life online released a picture on the web over the weekend that has caused a huge raucous. The photograph that has caused the chain so many problems is a photo of a McDonald's window and, what looks like, an official notice from the company posted on the window. The notice, equipped with McDonald's famous golden arch logo reads,

"PLEASE NOTE: As an insurance measure due in part to a recent string of robberies, African-American customers are now required to pay an additional fee of $1.50 per transaction."

The hoax created a huge negative buzz online. People all over the net were tweeting and re-tweeting the photo with the accompanying text, 'Seriously McDonalds.'

I don't understand what kind of people actually believed there was truth to the photo. Does anyone honestly think that a company that influential and that affluent would risk their business on blatant racism? Also, may I please point out that the punctuation in the notice is not correct; it has misplaced commas and is lacking some proper punctuation? I would hope that, if McDonalds did post a notice like this, the company would be intelligent enough to use proper punctuation. When people believe everything they see online, however, minute details like these are simply overlooked."
