Del Tomate Review!

Hello Sasaki Time fans! Here is another restaurant review for you! This time I am taking you to Del Tomate in Tustin! It is a blend of Argentinian and Italian food! After hearing about this place, I couldn't wait to go! What a hidden gem and I hope you enjoy the review and will go check out the amazing food!

I started out with a salad. They have a tiny salad bar to make your own salad which I really liked!

My friend went with one of their lunch specials which was soup and half of a chicken sandwich. The soup was a carrot soup. It tasted like tomato soup. Just delicious!
This was half of a chicken sandwich. The chicken was moist and tender! The batter gave it a fried chicken taste! It was really good!
But I ordered the lomito, one of their most popular dishes! Lomito with French bread, thinly-sliced skirt steak, Provolone cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, mayonnaise or Chimichurri sauce. I went with the Chimichurri sauce! It uses peppers, olive oil, garlic and a few other ingredients and I could eat this all day! The steak was thin and tender! All the flavors just blended perfectly!
And if somehow you can resist having one of the freshly made desserts, then you are missing out on something amazing! All of the desserts are made by one of the owners and you cannot miss the large glass case holding all of them as you walk into the cafe!
Homemade desserts change daily. But one of the items that they always have is called Alfajor de Maicena. It is an Argentinian classic which are cookie sandwiches filled with a caramel crème called dulce de leche and dipped in shredded coconut.
All of the other desserts I tried all had dulce de leche in them! All were fantastic! The pastry on the bottom was perfectly light and flaky with the dulce de leche in the middle! The creme puff was dulce de leche filled! Delicious! The pink cookie was more like a solid frosting. It was really good as well! But my clear favorite was the alfajor de maicena! Get a box of these to go and share with your friends! They will be fans as well!
Amazing food, great prices, even better desserts, and fantastic service! What more can you ask for? Now, who wants to join me for coffee and dessert?
