D23 Expo 2013: Treasures of The Walt Disney Archives (Part Two - Mary Poppins - Saving Mr. Banks)

As the 50th anniversary of Mary Poppins approaches, the Archives presents a wide array of iconic display from the Academy Award-winning 1964 film, including concept art and matte paintings, Mary and Bert’s carousel horses, the snow globe from the “Feed the Birds” sequence, costumes worn by many of the central characters, and the recently acquired carpet bag, which Mary famously uses to carry her assortment of magical belongings that bring inspiration and wonder to the Banks household.
I love penguins, so, of course these original storyboards from this sequence were my favorite to look at!
One of the original banners announcing the world premiere of the film!
A collection of ads, invites and parking passes for the film.
Walt's own copy of Mary Poppins In The Park, a Mary Poppins script, among some of the rare items on display.
The blocks from Jane and Michael's room.
The carpet bag was recently acquired by Archives and was displayed for the first time here at the D23 Expo!
The carousel horse ridden by Dick Van Dyke!
Julie Andrews carousel horse looks as lovely as she does!

Also on hand were select costume pieces worn in the upcoming Saving Mr. Banks.
