Sasaki Time's Dapper Day 2015 at The Disneyland Resort (March 1, 2015)

It's hard to believe but it's time for another Dapper Day at The Disneyland Resort! Despite the threat of rain, it didn't damper our spirits as my lovely friend Kristen and I headed to the resort!

For those of you unfamiliar with Dapper Day, it is an unofficial event, meaning it is not sponsored by the parks, that has been going on for the last five years. Inspired by the Herb Ryman's paintings of Disneyland, it takes us back to a simpler time when people dressed up to come to the parks. But do not think for a minute that you have to come in 1950s attire, you just have to look your best no matter the time frame!

Let's take a look at our day in the parks! Photos are in full color and black and white and a mixture of the two to add some contrast! The above photo is my favorite of the day! I think the colors just pop off Kristen's cardigan and the flowers on the trees! I also love how the background came out!

What day would be complete without a ride on the carousel? One of the original attraction here at Disneyland is a fitting attraction to go on during Dapper Day!

Heading into ToonTown since it is from Who Framed Roger Rabbit which is set in the 1940s. I really liked the contrast of putting the background in black and white and us in color. Maybe they will make a land where everything is black and white? Like an addition to ToonTown with all the original characters like Oswald.

The grey skies added a nice contrast to the bright colors of ToonTown.

Time to drive the Jolly Trolley!

The clouds got darker and then the rain came down! It was quite a downpour! Fortunately we were prepared with umbrellas! It was interesting to us how many people clearly were not prepared for the weather today!

Then the sun came out! It was time to take the train around the park!

Then it was time to head over to Disney California Adventure and our favorite place to grab a California Craft Beer, the Sonoma Terrace. My new favorite beer is the Velvet Glove from Iron Fist.

Then we made our way over into Cars Land. Black and white photography here just fits.

Over in the Pacific Wharf we headed to the Boudin Bakery. They just recently re-opened their tour and that is where you can find this fantastic Boudin delivery vehicle.

We end our day with a photo in front of Walt's apartment on Main Street! One of the reasons why I love Dapper Day so much is that it feels like Walt is still here with all of us. This photo is a reminder that Disneyland is here because Walt had the dream and that's the start. He followed his dream with mind and heart. And when it became a reality, it was a dream come true for you and me!

Hope you get a chance to come out to Dapper Day! The next event at The Disneyland Resort is the Fall Soiree in September! To find out more check out there site:
